CAA Ringman Champion
Josh Miller Crowned Inaugural Colorado Ringman Champion
The Colorado Auctioneers Association added a new competition category at our annual, CAA Convention this year. This was a spirited and fun competition in which everyone support the competitors in their first public competition as a Professional Ringman.
Josh Miller of Beloit, KS, was crowned the 2019 Colorado Ringman Champion on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at the Colorado Auctioneers Association Annual Convention. Competitors from all over Colorado and Kansas performed in front of an esteemed panel of judges including International and State Champion Auctioneers along with esteem industry professionals that hire Professional Ringman.
Five contestants vied for the honor of winning the championship title, a custom-designed championship belt buckle and a cash prize award over $500.00. The competition consisted of two rounds of relaying bids to the auctioneer of their choice at a live, public auction held at the convention. Each contestant is judged on appearance and presentation, body language, salesmanship, communication and desirability to be hired by the judge.
Josh Miller states that, “Currently, the proudest moment of my professional career is in winning this championship and it is all thanks to Mr. Shawn Hagler, Mr. Vaughn Long and the entire faculty and staff of World Champion Ringman College. Attending the World Champion Ringman College last September not only made me a better Ringman, but it has turned me into a much improved and sharpened auction professional. They not only molded me into a better Ringman and professional, but they will also helped deliver, “the BEST version of me that I can be.”
Since graduating, I have expanded upon my career as a Professional Ringman for World Champion Auctioneers at weekly auto auctions and working for one of the nation’s top real estate firms. I realized there was nothing holding me back from becoming as successful as I wanted. I was not only given the tools to do so, but the confidence, determination and poise in myself to make that happen.”
